There are many, several choices for software development that exist, and more being created everyday. However, I prefer what simply works nice for me, and different personal software preferences of other programmers are perfectly ok for them. I am continuing to improve my development software that’s my go to for ease of use and productivity.

LinuxMint OS of Linux, for Website, Android tablet, and phone development.

Apple Mac OSX for my IOS tablet and Apple mobile phone development.

Via wine software on LinuxMint, my text editor for software development is Notepad++ and WinSCP (integrates with Notepad++) for file transfers.

I often use the cli of gnu linux utilities, though grepWin that integrates with Notepad++ is ok. Many times I’ll write python3 scripts to get productivity things done.

Other productivity software that’s useful:

LibreOffice

And other text editors of pluma, xed, nano, etc.

I’ve been using winehq over 15 years on Linux and use LinuxMint everyday. The other day I finally found from its Software Manager and installed a software program I’ve needed for software development called Qlipper.  It’s a clipboard program that allows copy and paste to Notepad++ and actually works correctly.  For years, the copy and paste was inaccurate, having to copy and paste code two or three times before it was copy and pasted correctly.  Programming was much more difficult and frustrating. I’d like to say good job to the open source programmers for the working software.  Though the native copy and paste on Linux using winehq needs to be fixed correctly.

Happy Coding!
